What is Lipitor?

Lipitor is a cholesterol lowering medication created by the drug company Pfizer. Lipitor is a type of drug called a “statin” that works to reduce low density lipoproteins (LDL) more commonly referred to as bad cholesterol. It is one of the top selling drugs in the world, but since 2012 the FDA has warned about possible health risks associated with Lipitor, especially among women.
